Design and Fabrication of a Smart Phone based ECG Trace Analyzer
Cardiovascular disease related medical conditions have become the leading cause of death in Sri Lanka, similarly in the world mainly owing to the undesired changes in the lifestyle and food culture. Early detection of such medical conditions is vital for finding remedies and ultimately their well-being. The project is aimed to reduce the cardiovascular disease related mortality rate in Sri Lanka through early detection by introducing a smart phone based cost effective method for early detection of cardiovascular diseases.
With this system a victim/potential victim of heart diseases can take his/her ECG with BPM level with reasonable accuracy while staying in home, store it and send it to a physician to be inspected before going to a medical centre for further treatments. Another expected output of the project is a smart phone based effective and efficient communication platform to encourage productive utilization of telemedicine in Sri Lanka.
